FIRST‑DAY WORKING CHECKLIST
Purpose
This checklist outlines everything an employee must complete the morning of their first assignment to ensure compliance, safety, and readiness.
A. Pre‑Shift Requirements
Confirm WC coverage — Verify policy is active and all required DBAs are listed.
Confirm GLI coverage — Ensure certificate is saved and printable.
Verify client contract — Must be signed before arriving on site.
Review job order — Address, supervisor, duties, PPE, start time.
Complete safety briefing — Review hazards and site rules.
Check transportation — Vehicle, fuel, GPS route.
B. Personal Readiness
Wear required PPE — Vest, gloves, boots, glasses.
Bring hydration — Mandatory for outdoor or warehouse work.
Charge phones — Needed for dispatch, emergencies, and timekeeping.
Bring ID — Some sites require it.
C. Operational Readiness
Print timecards — Or confirm digital timekeeping is active.
Prepare dispatch log — Even if only one worker is dispatched.
Confirm billing rate — Needed for invoicing accuracy.
Confirm overtime rules — Each client may differ.
D. On‑Site Arrival
